It's not how you start...but how you finish

It is safe to say I've reached missdle age - though some would think that I am still young - which is true. I am 44 - so if you double that, that would be 88. I think I might be correct that even with that I may have fewer years ahead of me than behind.

Medical science and all that - who knows I could live to be 120, but I'll play the averages now.

There are many people that have bad things that happen to them. A lot of us always say, Why ME? I can guarantee though that there are a lot of people going through a lot more than you, and people say that all of the time, but you are the one going through your tough time, so it is tough.

I have had my fair share of bad things, but  I have had a lot of good things happen to me as well. And let's day I just found out the biggest news of all over the last few weeks which makes it even more important.

So you still have a lot of life left, so make the best of it. Change something that you think you are doing wrong. go do something that you always said you would do - because it is not how you start - it is how you finish that makes all the difference.

I have had a shaky start to my life long dreams and goals, but with work and persistence, it really starts to pay off. Go out on top - is what I like to say.

A great example is always sports. I watch hockey, and I wen tot a playoff game one time, and the team was really struggling through the 1st period. In the 2nd period the started to skate a lot better. They were down 3-2 going into the 3rd.

The team got a lot better and was gaining confidence. With about 5 minutes left in the game, they scored the tying goal at 3-3. It was a back and forth game, and it was exhausting just watching it - I couldn't even imagine playing in it.

The game before the other team one in overtime, so this team really didn't want to go to overtime, but it was great that they at least could do that if need be. With .3 seconds, yes, POINT 3 seconds left in the game the team scored the winning goal. In game 7 of that play off series - down 1 goal with less than a minute, the team scored the tying goal, and on the ensuing faceoff scored the winning goal with 30 seconds left to win the series and move to the next round. Amazing...

You may not win all of them, but never give up on the game....you never know what will happen next - so finish strong...

Hmm - the internet - who knew this would even still be here

So I have this blog I haven't done anything on in 4 years. It is amazing that no mater what you put on the internet - it stays there. I was almost hoping that Google would get tired of me and the blog would just sort of disappear.

So anyway, I have finished the first draft of the 2nd book in my trilogy dubbed 'The Bruinduer Narrative" It is called "Kali's Regress" and is a lot darker than the last.

It deals with loss and life not being quite what we planned, and trying to save yourself. Problem is, you can't save yourself. Really only our faith can do that.

Turning 44 gets you right at the next year 45 - which starts the back nine of life. I've always thought that it is not how you start, but how you finish. There are certain universal truths that stand out as you get older - one is - you will die, and the second is - what have I done with my life?

I'll try to blog on Kali's Regress and how we finish its production. There still is a 3rd book, so that will be interesting to write.

You can get The Mahogany Door for free at Smashwords. If you join my facebook page and send me a message with you address, I'll send you a hard copy.

Tell your friends - It's a Christian Fantasy book - but different than ones you may have read - They are long - and very personal. They are the type of book that you need to huddle in and read - It is not the quick books of today, but more of a throwback to the classics when TV wasn't around and attention spans were more than a few sound bites.  OK - I should be humble and I am - I am just grateful that you took the time to read this.
